Rasmus Ehlers (b. 1971) is a pianist and the son of cult-bassplayer Poul Ehlers. His musical upbringing shines through in his piano-playing, but his playing also has a very distinct and personal sound - a.o. developed through his more than 10-year long partnership with American saxophone-player George Garzone. He has, however, played with alot of other jazz-greats as well; Leroy Jones, Marc Mommas, Bob Mintzer and Bent Jädig to mention only a few.
In 2007 Rasmus recieved the prestigious Sonning Music Award for young, emerging artists in the Nordic countries.
